FIONA SNEDDEN

Passion for Melbourne

Council Candidate

Fiona Snedden has been a resident and small business proprietor in Melbourne for 10years. Currently serving her first term on Council, she seeks your support to continue her work.

Given business development and trade as her responsibility, she has combined this with representing and pursuing the many, very real issues of concern to ratepayers and residents. She has sought every opportunity to fight for an electoral review, to redress the imbalances in the current voting system.

She has championed the strengthening of Melbourne’s retail opportunities, the creation of 200 extra childcare places in Melbourne, the greening of Grattan Street, better management of the Carlton Gardens, the rebuilding of the Melbourne Bowling Club in Nth Melbourne, , revitalization of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and the development of Melbourne’s Hospitality Strategy, a strategic and comprehensive plan to deal with the excesses, the first in Australia.

Fiona has fought for greater fiscal responsibility voting against two budgets and has been highly critical and vocal about the waste involved in Council’s high-priced and unwanted projects.

From her experience, Fiona believes Council is unaccountable to its constituents, business and residents alike. Passion for Melbourne’s goals of true representation, tighter fiscal control and greater transparency are her passion too.
